 · The slowdown is caused by the queues at your ISP (or your modem). The ISP limits your Internet speed either at the modem, or at the router assigned to your modem. Since information can't come in as fast as possible, long queues of pending information build up in your router/modem. Download the latest version of Origin and install the client. Add firewall/antivirus exceptions for Origin and open the needed ports. When starting Origin, please make sure to run it as Administrator. Message 2 of 7 (11, Views) 2. + XP. Re: Origin slowing down my computer. [ Edited ] #topfind247.coted Reading Time: 1 min. My computer has 8 gb of RAM, gb hard drive, a quad-core i7 processor, and it runs very slow, excruciatingly slow, every time I run Google Chrome. As you can see in the screenshot, I have 5 tabs open in Chrome, and have only 1 extension added to Chrome. Yet there are 24 instances of Chrome showing up in my task manager, and now my computer.

My NVIDIA GeForce GTX M keeps slowing down my computer whenever the NVIDIA driver is enabled, and whenever I load up a game it usually immediately crashes or crashes after a few minutes of play. The screen occasionally goes black, which sometimes fixes itself and other times forces me to restart. Inevitably your computer slows down. You try to open a website and it grinds to a halt, or read an email and it churns along sluggishly. A slow computer, in many ways, is worse than a broken one. It took me a while to discover the cause of major system slow-down and glitching of my laptop and it turns out to be torrent downloading at high speeds (1MB/s, if relevant). I'm not sure what happens then, is it a problem of data-transferring between my Internet access and hard drive or just receiving data from my router or whatever.

An ISP may have traffic management which may alter the situation with some servers. The Origin game client like other uses MBs, rather than the Mbs of you ISP. What yours is showing is 85 Mbs ( MBs) in the Origin client. Go to the Origin settings and change Download restrictions to No limit. I have attempted to download an MMO 10 times all with no success - I have tried to download it to my SSD and HDD. Not only does my computer go very, very slow, it becomes unresponsive and goes to a black screen - leaving me no option but to power down.
